Hi All,
In my home network I would like to reserve some bandwidth for "browsing the internet" on the clients in my LAN.
As soon as the bittorrent server starts to download, I notice that browsing gets worse. :silly:
Should I use the bandwidth manager app or the Qos app to accomplish the bandwidth reservation?
I havent been very successful until now
I have tried to configure both bandwidth manager and Qos apps in Clearos 6.4,
but as soon as I start t one of them in webcnfig , all web browsing becomes impossible.
Only by stopping the app I can browse websites again.
I really have no idea how to start and with which app.
regards

There is a bug report about bandwidth manager blocking everything when used with particular Realtek interfaces. Please search the forum about this.
Regarding torrents, there are also some recipes like limiting the amount of simultaneous connection per client but I still have to investigate.
I suggest you use qos rather than bw manager which will eventually disapear : qos will not be beta anymore in cos 6.6.
