Can I Upgrade MySQL Sever to Latest Version?

Hello all,

I'm still running ClearOS 5.2 and I noticed that my MySQL Database Server is at version 5.0.95. I would like to upgrade to the latest version of 5.5.29 - is this possible or do I have to rig another server machine and use it strictly as my DB server so that I can have the latest version outside of ClearOS?

    ClearOS version 6.4 runs mysql version 5.1

    You should plan on upgrading and migrating to 6.x for the latest MySQL.

    I have the same problem.

    How can one upgrade mysql at least to version 5.1 through yum command?
