Hello, is there a way to go back to version 6.6 Beta2 without a full format/re-install?

My problem is that my WAN-IP disappears because i use Vlan i need to reboot to get my IP back..
    I don't have any problems with the 6.6 Beta1 and 6.6 Beta2 version.

Here is my threat about this problem:
    http://www.clearfoundation.com/component/option,com_kunena/Itemid,232/catid,28/func,view/id,63319/#63319
Hello i'm using ClearOS 6.5 Final (up to date) a month now, and i like it. (Now i use V6.6 final same problem)

But i have a problem with the VLAN IP, I find it hard to describe in English, I do my best.

I have a Fiberglass connection to get an IP i need to setup VLAN34.
I have always the same IP Address until i change my MAC address!

Under Network > Settings > IP Settings
    I delete the external interface.

    I add a VLAN Interface:
    Interface: eth1
    VLAN ID: 34
    Rule: External
    Connection Type: DHCP
    Hostname: ******
    Automatic DNS Servers: check OFF

    Push ADD,

VLAN - eth1.34 is searching for a IP en gets one (The good IP)
After a couple of seconds the IP disappeared and it is back to searching again, after 5~30 seconds i get my IP back. But afters a couple of seconds the IP is disappeared again. (this loop continues again... and again...)(I can use internet when i see the IP)

So i reboot my system, and Yeah now my IP remains. (For days or a week)

But when i plug out my EXT internet cable and reconnect it, it's going back in that loop i have to reboot ClearOS again.

    Now the annoying problem:
My Fiberglass operator is doing something random with the Internet lines, i think something like DHCP renew or check.
So random the VLAN IP is going back to that loop and i have to reboot ClearOS.

I have searching for it, but i don't know how to describe this problem.

Can someone help me to fix this problem.

I hope you understand my English.

    Thanks Michael

    Hi Ben,

Thank you for the prompt reply, much appreciated. There never is a good time for things not to work, but there have recently been a number of big changes at work and my workload seems to have increased, needless to say my 'Clear OS hobby time' seems to have disappeared, and you come to appreciate the stability of the Clear system, so get frustrated when it isn't 100%. I will write a ticket for each of the issues as you suggest. It may well be that the issues have nothing to do with the 6.6 update, but it just seems like a coincidence.

I do very much appreciate the work you guys do / are doing, and the really good community.

    David,

I've just looked at the ClearCARE support queue and I'm not seeing any open issues that seem to have been related to the 6.6 roll-out.

Granted, it didn't go perfectly and we're looking at ways in v7 to be able to stagger the updates so we can have the same sort of QC process that is in place and successful in normal updates (eg. goes to Community firs for testingt unless security-related and deemed urgent, in which case it's reversed), however, any Pro users who had problems were handled by the ClearCenter support team (not on Community forums but through the support ticket queue).

If you have any issues related to 6.6 update and are on Professional, please, throw us a ticket, even if you don't have a subscription that includes support. At least it will be logged and reviewed by the devel team, and if we've broken something for the masses, we'll fix it...we're not going to ding you for per-incident costs. That would be...dirty.

We can't fix what we don't know about.

    B.

Can you provide more information than 'did not start'?

Any info on the console when these services are started? Anything in the log files? Disk space issues?

It's the old axiom..."help us help you".

    Hi EasyBit,

I'm beginning to feel a bit annoyed at this 6.6 update - there are a number of things that have stopped working, or don't seem to be working properly since the update was done. I wasn't happy that the update was pushed out via YUM especially to the professional users.

Clearfoundation staff have been very quiet.

I updated another system from 6.5 to 6.6 via webconfig software update and again got locked out of the OpenVPN access.
Before I could call the customer the customer called me: The mysql server was down too.

So now there are two services which did not restart after the update.

    Why?

Has the development environment been fixed in ClearOS Community 6.6.0 32-bit or are there still broken/missing dependencies?

I'd like to upgrade to it if it has been fixed.

I applied the updates to a ClearOS Pro 6.5 system being connected via OpenVPN (SSH port closed on firewall).
I was almost finished checking all the changed webconfig pages as I could not load the next page. I disconnected
the VPN session and when trying to reconnect authentication failed.

I went on-site today and after restarting OpenVPN I could reconnect. The ldap folder permissions were OK.
A user reported a very long (minutes) log-in time this morning. The ClearOS server is the PDC.

The two systems I've logged into both had ldap folder file permissions issue...
     ls -l /var/lib/ldap

If you see files in their owned by 'root', your directory is not going to be happy.
    chown -R ldap:ldap /var/lib/ldap
    service slapd restart

We'll investigate why this happened on upgrade to 6.6.

We'll also look into the interface library issue that was pointed out...not sure how severe that is.

Ok. Got to the server and got into Webconfig.. only to be told that the user module was (politely!) not working (along with much of the rest ..). Swore loudly and used the 3 finger salute.
    - and everything came back to life.

Somewhat relieved - but no little irritated! .. along with, apparently, a lot of others ...

Apparently, so have I - one of my servers appears to be dead ...!

Not particularly happy at this point as I can't connect, can't login, can't do anything. Can't even connect to the server via SSH as that goes through an OpenVPN connection that's also dead!!! Now going to have to drive in to the middle of Cambridge (UK) - not the best place to get to in the rush-hour - to (hopefully!) fix things. A warning on the forums would have been helpful.

Oh, and can't login to webmail (zarafa) as it reports my username/password is wrong .. which was ok yesterday before the update ...

When did you decided to move away from CentOS for ClearOS? I thought it was always to be on CentOS and built off that?

    Hi all,

The "clearos-core" repository is now version 6.6 (though one of the packages failed to rebuild). If you have it enabled, you will be getting the upstream 6.6 updates. It would be nice to have a public "clearos-core-testing" repository, but that hasn't happened yet. Since the "clearos-core" repo is for command line hackers only, it is perceived to be not commercially important to ClearOS Professional subscribers. Though I don't like the policy, I know that it's all balance between resources and keeping customers happy.

In a strange twist, the move back to CentOS in ClearOS 7 means that "core" (aka CentOS) updates will be handled through a more thorough QA process.

    yum --enablerepo=clearos-core,clearos-updates,clearos-updates-testing,clearos-epel update -x calamaris -x clam*
    ....
    ....
    Install 3 Package(s)
    Upgrade 236 Package(s)

    Total download size: 239 M
    Is this ok [y/N]: N
    Exiting on user Command

The vast majority of these are updates in "clearos-core" - a few in clearos-testing (8)

EDIT Updated this i686 test machine with the 239 packages as above, re-booted, and all initial tests of my most essential jobs look OK so far...

Please can you urgently check that the beta update has now gone live? A yum update is bringing in 6.6 packages (although it is broken for me because of a missing dependency)

    Hi everyone,

The ClearOS 6.6 build is nearing completion. There were about 300 upstream RPMs to review, and we're down to about a dozen. We should have a full 6.6.0 Beta 2 available in updates-testing by the end of the week.

We're still waiting on upstream. I have a feeling Red Hat decided to skip their usual 6 month minor release schedule due to the release of RHEL 7. RHEL 6.5 was released in November 2013, so we were expecting RHEL 6.6 in May. That didn't happen.

    Hi sgoncalo,

6.6.0 Release notes mentioned IPV6 improvements, but I still don't see any IPV6 support in the user interface.
Is there some master enable that I haven't found yet, or are the changes all low-level internal updates that have not been surfaced to the user GUI yet?

Yup... many low-level changes are starting creep into the code, but nothing much in the GUI (just the network reports).

My bad...I forgot that AppFirst RPM does not release source code so their package is necessarily in a private repo. It must be installed via the Marketplace and I think I need to do something still to enable that...Will check tomorrow and report back.
