By 'switch to terminal', I assume you mean that you tried to do a CTRL+ALT+F3 or something similar to get a text-based login. ClearOS, will on its first boot attempt to launch a graphical console on CTRL+ALT+F1 but switching to F2-F6 will allow you to get to the command line and then see if you got an IP address with:

    ipconfig | less

    -or-

    ip a | less

Because the system will use DHCP to get an IP address, you can also get access to your DHCP server and discover what IP address your system is getting. From there you can go to https://IP_ADDRESS:81 and simply start using the system. I have a system that doesn't have a video output at all (weird motherboard).

If you get stuck, you can use the rescue mode to find out what network MAC address your system is using and even manually start the network stack in rescue mode to see what IP address you are getting.
