Hello to all.

I am not sure if this is the correct forum to ask but I am going to ask anyway.

As a IT reseller and installer we use Clearos on a daily basis, Clearos has become a must for all our SMB clients as a direct replacement for Windows small business Server.
We do however have a request; Many of our clients require an off-site backup solution in terms of backing up critical data off site. The paid cloud version of backup from Clearos is fine but does not work well for people in South Africa. With bandwidth issues it’s better to back up to a local cloud.
We find this with Cloud backup solutions from HP and others. The system can backup fine but it takes forever to recover data. I have been dealing with a cloud backup company in South Africa and there system works well as they are local. The only issue is that there software does not have a client for Clearos or Centos. They do have a client for other linux packages. Would it be possible for the Clearos development team to work together with this cloud backup company to develop a client?
This would really make for a complete solution for our clients and avoid using a windows computer to load a backup client.

Hope to hear from you soon

Many thanks

Shaun.

    Hi Shaun.

Marcel's advice is good....if you have enough clients and the interest, there is the potential for you to host your own remote backup node locally and for your clients use, exclusively.

You provide the infrastructure/hosting and license the back end remote backup from ClearCenter. In this way, all backup/restore operations would never leave SA.

Maybe it's better to submit a ticket to Clearcenter with this question. You then certainly get a answer.
