    Hi,

    I've checkout the new app-storage.
Looks nice and i hope more development will come.

    1 remark:

With the LVM, the field is editable directly.
Maybe hide this behind a button first (grey-out and make a change button to make it edittable)

More is coming. In fact you can track the issues and the commits to see the builds which should drop every day or two.

This week's meeting (May 18) will be postponed. We don't have a community leader scheduled to run it. We won't have anyone that can run it. If someone would like to run meetings they will just need to meet with us in the future during the week in order to report out on ClearCenter's activity in ClearFoundation.

I have a feeling that a weekly meeting is too often. Maybe it's better to have meeting every two or three weeks. I think all community members have a daily job and can't do much work in a week. If I look to myself I travel daily to Amsterdam (2 hours travel daily). My morning start at 5.00AM. I'm away for eleven/twelve hours so I'm too tired in the evening. Just some thoughts..

That's interesting .. I don't see this - and I don't have any outstanding updates. Is this a new app (I have the storage app installed) or is this view only shown if a logical volume is defined? (I defined my own simple volume set)

It's a new update of the app but it is still in testing. You can find it in:

    yum update --enable-repo=clearos-updates-testing app-storage

    Hi

I've installed the latest version 2.6.3-1.
I see the LVM section has been removed. Probably a good reason, but just mentioning it.

In my system i've 2 data disk of 4TB. Tried to play with 1 disk a little bit, but i could not format this disk to 4TB (GPT)
    Not displaying any eerrors
Also umounting of shares did not work, because they were probably in use. You can not force an umount

Further were can you see a kind of log what is happened

@Patrick, I also installed app-storage but then in a vm to test. It's a bit hard to judge because I have very little experience with the previous versions. I saw with the previous update the LVM part but I only installed not tested. It's now indeed removed. If you have a empty drive ClearOS app storage find your device automatically then you can tick "view details" and create partitions. After that you can format and mount the partition. I think the mapping section is not yet finished because I had to enable the mapping manually. Also I'm not sure if other filesystems is working I only tested "ext3" for now.

The formatting to EXT4 did not do anything. Maybe because it is a GPT disk. (>2Tb)
Because it is not giving a error screen i do not know why it did not work.

I still have 1 bay unused, so i’ll put i a smaller disk and do some testing.

I think that the table is GPT is not a problem. I can create ext3 filesystems on GPT but all other filesystems fail. So I think this is not implement yet. I certainly find this promising!

I've tried looking at the code and I'm not sure what I see. The business bits look like they are in /usr/clearos/apps/storage/libraries/Device_Partition.php and /usr/clearos/apps/storage/libraries/Storage_Device.php. I have not traced through the logic but in Device_Partition.php it looks like the function do_format($device) can only create GPT partitions. Do they work on BIOS systems? The function do_format_partition($partition_id) can only create ext3 partitions

In Storage_Device.php the function create_data_drive($device, $type) can format ext3 and ext4 partitions. It also seems to write a temporary log called storage_create.log to CLEAROS_TEMP_DIR but I can't see where that is specified.

I have not tried to check where these functions are called from.

I am a bit confused by what I see, but then I'm not a PHP programmer.
