Hi Von, Yep. Still here and cranking. Many are still planning on long-term updates, developments, and advancements.

    Hi Michael,

It would be great if we could see some visible progress.
The forum is no longer supported and updates are no longer maintained.
As an example: Koji is not functioning properly and no one looks at it anymore. For example, there is an update for Domoticz waiting, but not coming through to the repositories.

It would be nice to see something tangible happen. Right now it feels like ClearOS is dead and not being revived.
I really hope there is a turnaround because it is still a wonderful package that I have enjoyed using since 2003

    I am jumping ship...

I spent the night loading ubuntu server and aapanel and it does everything I want it to and then some.

Supported from what I can tell, email, web, MySQL and an extremely easy to use interface to manage and install everything they also have a marketplace with plugins/apps.

In some ways it is miles ahead of Clearos and in others it is lacking.

Mixed bag, but when I go to sleep at night, I know I will be patched or will soon to be patched.

Clearos has served me well. It was an awesome experience and Nick was a part of the learning process.

I will keep my eye on Clearos and see what its next step is, and I may come back as it was a perfect Linux all in one appliance, but without security updates...

I want to see what they will do concerning there version of Linux it will be built on.

Who they get for community forum support?

Clearos is complete it works well and it is stable, it just needs some support and security updates and a vision for the future.

I'd love to know who made this the 'accepted answer' as it conveys no useful information whatsoever. 'Many' can be '2', and 'long-term' can mean 'the next couple of months or weeks .. or days'. Just depends on the context. And given the complete absence of recent updates it does nothing to provide any confidence in the future of the distribution.

Not meaning to beat a dead horse, but this is worrisome to me...

    Many are still planning...

That was just not positive. Why not say, "We will be doing long term updates, developments, and advancements. You can expect to see the next system updates on 3/10/22". We apologize while we restructure our business and we will let the community know of any issues ahead".

I am truly saddened by the current issues within your company. And is "no news good news"? Please give us updates good or bad.

A very good indication that ClearOS was unwilling to invest anything in ClearOS support occured when this site was unusable for weeks quite some time ago. No acknowledgement of a problem whatsoever from ClearOS management, let alone an apology. A warning of what was to come. The writing was clearly on the wall when weeks, then months, went by without any concrete published plan for the successor to ClearOS 7. There still isn't. Now a current lack of any support and you need "someone to let you know"? Really? At the very least you and everyone else should already have have evaluated alternatives, selected one and verified it will do what you want and be ready jump if necessary. Never put your trust in any organization "to do the right thing".

I am NOT a paid user so have no idea of the terms and conditions in their contact for paid users. Maybe you should read them and see if they are now in violation of said terms and conditions. If they are, seek what remedy is then appropriate.
