Hi, I have found ClearOS to be extremely useful in development / lab environments where I want to emulate several regions & have multiple ClearOS Instances.

I have come across a lot of great documentation for setting up and doing a number of 101 tasks & initial setup via mostly GUI & WebGUI interactions.

Is there a writeup somewhere that I overlooked on how to do a 100% CLI setup for the basic first setup & configuration?

If there is not I'm open to creating a guide for that with some help finding the necessary documentation/config files/ etc.

Thanks

Tony posted this for a text mode install, if it helps.

If you do create a guide, I'd be happy to put it into the docuwiki format and add it to the knowledgebase. I'd also try to link it into the installation guides.

If you are familiar with php then start with /usr/clearos/apps/base/libraries/Install_Wizard.php and work you way through to see what the GUI wizard does during the initial GUI install stage... have fun :)

There was a time (6.x?) when you could use the text only lynx browser in a console so "lynx https://127.0.0.1:81" would work. It was a bit of a pig as you had to keep scrolling down to get to your options but it worked. Lynx does not appear to come with the default installation in 7.x any more so I don't know if they have ceased support for it.
