Hi,

While I was looking into solving another problem I had a look at /var/log/messages. It appears my system is generating the folllowing message every few seconds:

Jul 25 13:35:02 mail sudo: : lib_wrappers.c openInts 765 : open config file failed err (No such file or directory)
Jul 25 13:35:02 mail app-rename: : lib_wrappers.c openInts 765 : open config file failed err (No such file or directory)
Jul 25 13:35:02 mail sh: : lib_wrappers.c openInts 765 : open config file failed err (No such file or directory)
Jul 25 13:35:02 mail sudo: : lib_wrappers.c openInts 765 : open config file failed err (No such file or directory)
Jul 25 13:35:02 mail rm: : lib_wrappers.c openInts 765 : open config file failed err (No such file or directory)
Jul 25 13:35:02 mail sh: : lib_wrappers.c openInts 765 : open config file failed err (No such file or directory)
Jul 25 13:35:02 mail sudo: : lib_wrappers.c openInts 765 : open config file failed err (No such file or directory)
Jul 25 13:35:02 mail touch: : lib_wrappers.c openInts 765 : open config file failed err (No such file or directory)
Jul 25 13:35:02 mail sh: : lib_wrappers.c openInts 765 : open config file failed err (No such file or directory)
Jul 25 13:35:02 mail sudo: : lib_wrappers.c openInts 765 : open config file failed err (No such file or directory)
Jul 25 13:35:02 mail chown: : lib_wrappers.c openInts 765 : open config file failed err (No such file or directory)

I have no idea where to look and how to solve this. Google did not yield much results either (what is using lib_wrapper.c and what is openInts...)

Hope someone here has a solution/pointers towards a solution..

And it stopped immediately. Thinking back it makes sense this started after installing appfirst (not using it anyway)..

    So thank you!

Next time be very wary of using yum to remove packages. The dependency removal is pretty indiscriminate and can destroy your system as it will take out packages required by other parts of the system. "rpm -e --nodeps packagename" is safer. You can force a re-installation with a "yum reinstall packagename".

It looks like I fixed it... Not 100% sure this is good so Tim might want to verify what I did

Inspecting the RPM's with rpm -Va I found that appfirst had issues with the permissions.

The I tracked down the libwrapper to appfirst so it made more sense...

I did a yum remove appfirst and all it's dependencies.

    Then yum install appfirst

after this I reinstalled the dependencies I removed in my case

yum install app-appfirst did the trick and installed all of them.

I would have a storm of messages every 10 minutes on my messages log, now it's completely clean.

So, I'm getting the error from lots of applications not just mail.

    led err (Permission denied)
    Aug 8 07:16:48 mpt pop3d: : lib_wrappers.c openInts 765 : open config file failed err (Permission denied)
Aug 8 07:17:07 mpt sh: : lib_wrappers.c openInts 765 : open config file failed err (Permission denied)

I also see imapd, df, php, hostname, file, lmtpd, consoletype, grep, ctl_cyrusdb messages, I was just lazy and posted a few examples.

My Disk has plenty of space, I did have an unexpected power outage that did hose some other files (somehow permissions changed in some files for dansguardian)

    Here's my sudoers files

    -rw-r----- 1 root root 1786 Sep 25 2012 sudo.conf
    -r--r----- 1 root root 6138 Jul 16 18:39 sudoers
    drwxr-x---. 2 root root 4096 Nov 21 2013 sudoers.d
    -rw-r----- 1 root root 3181 Oct 7 2013 sudo-ldap.conf

    [root@mpt ~]# df
Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
    /dev/md1 476362600 122018092 330146632 27% /
    tmpfs 6094924 4 6094920 1% /dev/shm
    /dev/md0 99099 48476 45507 52% /boot

I found this while hunting for and CPU starvation caused by system-mysqld and fixed by removing the detailed network reports app and resetting the DB.

Hmm, couple of things I'd check

    - Is your drive full?
    - Does /etc/sudoers exist?
    - The errors relate to missing file or configuration - has anything changed on your system recently? (look at /var/log/yum.log)

The errors are generated by the mail service as it tries to make configuration changes, but I don't have lib_wrappers.c on my system so have you customised or installed any third party RPMs / software
