Bit of a noob I'm afraid, got my first server up and running, just sorting out an email client for my 'Windows 7' users, and found the only properly integrated email client (meaning email & calendar) I can get to connect, is Windows LiveMail. However, it is only email that seems to be working.

The LiveMail client is connecting using IMAP on the internal network, but address books & calendar doesn't seem to work between the client & the email system.

Anyone any recommendations for clients with calendar, that sync with the stock email setup in ClearOS? or 'simple' steps to put something in place that will give my roaming users access to their email and calendar?

Many Thanks in advance!

just search around a bit on the forums, the most common cause for slow file transfers is the driver for your nic. Try looking around a bit and see if that's the issue. I have stoneage hardware running my clear-os box (read a 600mhz p3 box) and my flexshares are always at 100mb/sec which is the limit of the 10/100 card in the pc.

Oh - well looks like they are willing to splash lots of cash around.
Have you not asked on the forums about the apparent slowness? There are a good number of people on here (not I!) with lots of experience you might like to ask before giving up and throwing money at it.

Shared calendars etc not a priority just now, trying to resolve a general slowness regarding Flexshares for my client. So I think this thread will close (my client is chomping at the bit to get the slowness issue sorted, beleiving MS SBS2008 will do the trick).

OK, will have a look at SOGo, and see if I can get that running.

I don't know how you will get Windows LiveMail client to show the calendar from Horde. i doubt very much that you can. The only way i have found to get shared calendars is by installing SOGo (search for it on these forums) and then using the SOGo free connector for Thunderbird. Thunderbird is a better email client anyway, in my opinion. The installation of SOGo does not affect the existing mail applications at all.
