I am currently using an Intel® Ethernet Controller I226-V Series network adapter on my ClearOS system and I am having trouble finding the appropriate Linux driver for it. I have searched online, but I have not been able to locate a reliable source for this driver.

Could anyone please help me with obtaining the driver for this network adapter for Linux? Any guidance or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

A modicum of research shows the following :-

Intel documentation indicates kernel 5.16.18 or later is required to support the I226-V. For Redhat/CentOS systems, and distributions derived from it, that would be version 8.6 or later. ClearOS is, I believe, at version 7.9 with a very ancient 3.10 kernel. However, it may be possible to install the elrepo ml-kernel for CentOS 7.9 on ClearOS 7.9. This should give you a 6.x version kernel and likely support for the I226-V, Check the elrepo site for more info to research this possibility.

Wondering why you haven't received any replies?

The answer is simple. ClearOS stopped providing software updates last year. Subsequently ClearOS has become susceptible to attacks and a decided security risk. Most of the knowledgeable former posters have therefore fled to greener pastures. ClearOS 7.x is now virtually abandoned and dead.
