Pi Hole on ClearOS?
Hi,
Can i install Pi Hole directly on ClearOS and if so how should i properly configure it?
I could add a little SBC with Pi Hole but my ClearOS has planety of unused resources.

According to this, Fedora, RHEL and CentOS are supported by the installer, so ClearOS *should* be OK.
I do have concerns about this sort of solution. When I used a DNS blocker (redirecting to 127.0.0.1), elements which were blocked had to time out before the page finished loading which created considerable delays on some page loads. To get round this I got the DNS blocker to redirect to a mini webserver called pixelserv which served a 1x1 px image instead of the requested URL which worked OK (there is a thread on the forum somewhere). This then left the issue that if you (or anyone in the family) wanted to unblock pages the server needed to be administered. This compares to a browser adblocker which can be administered locally. If you use cash back sites such as Quidco or Topcashback (in the UK) you may end up having the referrer cookies being blocked and you may then lose your cashback and it will probably be very hard to trace which URL's need unblocking.
