Hello all,

We configured a ClearOS system for your teachers/students with a LDAP server and windows samba domain.
Each user has a personnal folder.

The problem I've is that wen I'm trying to access my personnal folder \\my_clearOS_server\my_personnal_folder, a windows on my computer comes to request a username/password. Till there, no problem. So I give my username/password and then, samba request that I change my password before accessing (cf pic)

Is there a way to avoid samba requesting for that change ?
thanks to all for your help

I have never been asked for a change of password. I have had lots of problems getting my password accepted as I use the same local user as I do Samba user, but the local user has no password. I now use credentials in the Credential Manager to log in to my shares.

Is this the same system as the one where user-defined groups don't work? And are there any special characters in the password?

    Dear Nick,
    Thanks for the enquiry.
This is not the the same system as the one with the pre-defined groups which are not working.
I think this is a general problem because we tried with different accounts on different systems (MAC OS and Windows) . We can connect to the ClearoOS Webconsole without any problem.
I will try to see if that system has the same pre-defined group problems ...
    Thanks for your help :)

Have you installed the Password Policies app, by any chance?
