Hi all,

I have discovered a difference in the File system Summaries between COS Community 6.5.0 32b & -64b.
When I select the default partitioning (Use All Space) I get two different results.

32b (80Gb hd)

64b (160Gb hd / RAID 1 setup)

Can someone explain to me why there is a difference between the two and what does it mean ... ?!?
Is it possible to make changes to the partition sizes with f.e. GParted after the installation has finished ... ?!?

Please advice,

John

    Thanks for the information Peter,

I guess the best way for me to go is to reinstall from USB.

    Greetings,

    John

    EDIT:
After a new install from external DVD my file system summery of the 64bit, 160Gb, RAID 1 system looks like this:

Ahhh... that explains it. The default behavior in the upstream installer is to create a large /home partition. That's not a good default for a typical ClearOS install, of course. The ClearOS ISOs include a tweak to change this default, but the PXE images still use the upstream default.

The PXE images should be corrected by the time 6.6 rolls out. We pulled the ISO creation process out of the build system and went back to the way we it was done in 5.x. We moved the ISO creation back to the build system just a few weeks ago, so we'll be back on track soon.

    Hi Peter,

The 64bit version was installed with COS 6.5 ISO files from PXE.
The on-line repositories used are from COS 6.4 and afterwords updated with yum to COS 6.5.

The reason why I did that is because I don't have access to a CD/DVD player.
Maybe it's a good idea to start over and install it from USB ... but I did not try this before.

Thanks for the heads up about partitioning after the fact ... I think I will need to setup the partitions during install to prevent problems.

    Please advice,

    John

The 64-bit screenshot looks like the behavior of an older installer. What ISO version did you use?

    Yes, but it's tricky.
