I'm trying to install ClearOS Community 6.2 on a VirtualBox VM. I'm using the web-based install wizard. When I get to the System Registration step, it gives the following message:

System registration/status is not available at this time. It appears your system is not connected to the Internet - please check your network settings.

I opened a console on the ClearOS server and installed tshark. Using tshark to capture the network traffic, I can see a server with a ClearFoundation IP address having a TLS-encrypted conversation with my server. All other network seems to be working correctly.

Going to www.clearcenter.com and logging in, I can see that the server with all of its details is listed in my account under system management. The only way that information could have gotten into the ClearCenter website is through the registration process (this is a new installation).

So, I'm stuck at this registration screen, but everything seems to be working properly. Help!

I'm still not able to get past the System Registration page in the Install Wizard. I deleted the system from the ClearCenter site, and reloaded the System Registration page on the server. I was presented with the proper form, which I filled in. I got the same message, "System registration/status is not available at this time." But the re-registered system appears in ClearCenter.

    What am I doing wrong?

Check your network settings and make sure you have at least one NIC configured as 'External'.

I am getting something similar, I installed this morning as machine HDD failed but when going through the process, it installs the updates and then comes up with an Error

Connection failed: couldn't connect to host

    http://www.clearfoundation.com/media/kunena/attachments/legacy/images/ClearOSError.jpg

I have confirmed the IP details and I have even installed on another network, open broadband, with the same error after installing the updates.

Please help as we have had to turn off all proxy configs until this is working.

    Thanks

    Philip

EDIT - Could get through from about 1 1/2 hours ago - no change here so must be SDN server. Is there a way we could see a service status of ClearOS Servers - instead of wondering if we have done something wrong. Thanks

NB Excellent software as always though

Same problem here... what is going on here?

I tried reinstalling ClearOS Community Edition 6.2-1 cleanly three times, different internet connections (even direct connect) - it even does the "Software Updates" just fine through the INTERNET!!!

I've tried multiple accounts, deleted systems through ( https://secure.clearcenter.com ) same results!!!

... starting to think ClearOS Community was not the right solution after all...

What is the deal? ::: extremely frustrated :::

    UPDATE: Problem RESOLVED!

Ah yes...you *must* have an interface defined as external...even if your ClearOS is on your LAN.

I think Pete did some stuff in 6.3 to double check for this condition to make sure you guys set the interface correctly.
