      Sorry, life has been keeping me busy...
      I am still slowly plugging away at this but not with the attention that is needed.
      I'm hoping to get a hand with this project as soon as I can.

      Sorry for the long delay...
      Got Engaged and went to Hawaii.
      And in the process moving my development computer to my new place.

      I haven't been home in 3-4months,
      I have a current kernel panic that will force me to pick up my dev system and fix my network.
      So I'll be checking out 6.4 and starting the project again.

      Never mind. I installed the net-snmp package as follows:

      yum --enablerepo clearos-core install net-snmp

      I then installed the nut and nut-client packages as above with no problems.

      Sorry for the confusion.

      The install above is broken (running 6.4.0):

      yum --enablerepo clearos-epel install nut nut-client

      Setting up Install Process
      Resolving Dependencies
      --> Running transaction check
      ---> Package nut.x86_64 0:2.6.5-2.el6 will be installed
      --> Processing Dependency: libnetsnmp.so.20()(64bit) for package: nut-2.6.5-2.el6.x86_64
      ---> Package nut-client.x86_64 0:2.6.5-2.el6 will be installed
      --> Finished Dependency Resolution
      Error: Package: nut-2.6.5-2.el6.x86_64 (clearos-epel)
      Requires: libnetsnmp.so.20()(64bit)
      You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
      You could try running: rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest

      I saw your question on installing NUT on 6.x a while ago but couldn't add to the discussion at the time while still running 5.2.

      I have now upgraded to 6.4.0 final and downloaded nut and nut-client using
      yum --enablerepo clearos-epel install nut nut-client

      Nut installed with no further ado.

      I suppose you need to upgrade to 6.4.0 final to use the repo.

      The nut version installed is 2.6.5 on my 64bit version. It creates nut's config files in /etc/ups and seems to work as intended.

      I hope this is usefull,

      Peter

      I'm interested in knowing who has nut installed on a ClearOS 6.* system.
      What NUT version you're using.
      What hardware you're using.
      What repos or rpms you added to install NUT and its dependencies.
      If you built the installation from source, How well that worked for you.
      And any issues you came across while attempting to setup NUT.
      If you could be as detailed as possible it would be greatly appreciated.

      Very Nice.

      Would you be recording the data collected from the UPS'? So that you can trend for reports?

      I would be very interested in helping. Great chance to learning something new.

      Thanks

      Hi,

      Thanks for reading my mind, i've used NUT before and had a really good experience.

      I cant help on programing, its way beyond my knowledge scope, but if you dont mind, i'll suggest on simple thing, having the ability to make manual changes to the config files directly on the administration portion. the reason why i say that is that i've had some really odd UPS's and had to test several different drivers and configs, editing in the web interface might be helpful in such a case.

      Thank you.
      Rodrigo.
