Hello.
I'm having issues when trying to join a Windows 11 22H2 to ClearOS 7 domain. From what I've bee reading on the web, this issue was solved with Samba 4.16.+ but, all the versions available in ClearOS (and CentOS 7) ends on 4.10.
Does anyone have found a workaround?

I haven't even seen it yet, it doesn't look like this. It's true that my knowledge hasn't been updated yet -

Hey all,
sorry, for hijacking this, but I'm going crazy right now.
I can access Samba shares on my Win11 22H2 and do some things without problems. But if I try to grant permissions to new/other users it asks me to login again. Even though I enter the correct credentials (which are obviously the same) it gives an error that the username or password is wrong. So I cannot add any new users to my shares.
Any idea what it could be or how it could be fixed? I googled a lot, you are my last try.
PS: Sorry, it is not ClearOS either but I am very desperate right know. Please forgive me. Thanks in advance.
Hello Kai,
Maybe this threads helps you
Don't expect any support, since the forum is pretty abanded (and the official support)
I wrote, because I could not find anything helpful in the internet or here.
Also like I mentioned before: It is not about ClearOS at all (so this might be the reason why people do not look into this thread anymore), but I could not find anything close where people discussed this. There are a lot of similar threads but they suggest other things. Most of them I already tried without any success. I am open to test a few more things.
Hope to find some help sooner or later. Thanks. -

Hello Jose,
What is exactly your problem?
I'm running also Win11 22H2 and can access my Samba shares without any problem
BTW. ClearOS is dead en Centos7 will be EOL in a few months
Don't expect any updates
I think he/she wants to join a domain. Up until 22H2 that was possible with some (two and a third to be able to use Outlook) registry hacks.
Those might still work, but I'm not sure. They still work for Win10 22H2.
I'm migrating my clients to Zentyal now. Refreshing to see joining a domain can work out of the box again.
I've added the reg keys. Note. You have to insert your own domainname in logon.reg
Make the three reg files
run them as an admin
Now you might be able to join the domain.
And even though the featured Topic on this forum is called "ClearOS Server - Active Development" the fact that nobody from COS replied after four days, makes me think Patrick is probably right about the COS is dead front.
