ClearBOX 700 Features & Appearance
The ClearBOX 700 is a 2 U dual-socket rack server launched by ClearCenter & Huawei to meet customer demands for higher capacity ClearOS deployments.
The ClearBOX 700 supports high performance computing (HPC), databases, virtualization, basic enterprise applications, service applications; thanks to its outstanding computing performance, large storage capacity, low energy consumption, high reliability, and ease of deployment & management.
Secure & Scalable Storage
The ClearBOX 700 is built to perform with enterprise security and data accessibility. Built to ensure your data is available and scalable to your needs, the ClearBOX 700 ships with ZFS installed by default.
ZFS is a highly scalable future proof file system and logical volume manager designed around a few key concepts data integrity being paramount, storage administration being simple, & everything being managed online.
Clean & Robust Design
The ClearBOX 700 is built with best-in-class design throughout. With options scaling from something like your grandma's grocery-getter to more of a formula-1 style race car, these servers will fit and grow with your organizations needs.
System options range from 1x Quad Core CPUs, to 2x Ten Core CPUs. Start with 16GB of Memory and ramp up to 768GB of Memory as your needs grow. Chassis configurations range from 12 drive to 24 drive options.
Hybrid Server Technlogy
The ClearBOX 700 is built with Hybrid IT in mind. Built for expansion and full IT flexibility in mind, these servers ship with networking functionality onboard with a wide variety of expansion capabilities.
This server now provides a robust platform by which your IT requirements are consolidated to a simple Smart Server providing a turn-key hybrid IT operating platform.
Clear & Specific Choices
The ClearBOX 700 is available in a number of chassis configurations. With many popular configurations available you're given the ability to deploy what fits your needs and not what someone else thinks is best for you.
Shown is the 12 (+2 rear) drive configuration. The option to run SATA or SAS drives (including Solid State) gives you the flexibility to choose which server will perform best for your environments needs. Optional 24 (+2 rear) drive configurations are also available. For those who split the load between 2 servers, you have the choice of mixing and matching and scaling your infrastructure as needed. Mission critical failover configurations are also available.
Ultimate Performance & Flexibility
The ClearBOX 700 runs ClearOS, which is a small footprint operating platform. This OS is loaded on separate disks located in the rear of the server.
This configuration gives the ultimate in flexibility, as you can run the OS on disks that do not impact your front loading storage capacity. In addition, this extra space can be used for high speed caching purposes and can run on SSD (solid state disk) technology.

Reporting Apps
Manage Up to 750 Users, with one appliance
ClearBOX 700 Hybrid Appliances are engineered to scale quickly and simply for environments running 10 users or up to 750 users.
The 700 is designed for mid-sized organizations, distributed enterprises and educational institutions with up to 750 users. It's excellent pricing allows not only for a quick ROI but the ability to deploy a ClearBOX in Mission Critical configurations to ensure maximum up time for your environment.
Solutions include ClearOS Professional, Standard & Premium software license options, which include many apps and services as well as ClearCARE, Level I & Level II technical support.
Cloud Managed since 2001
The ClearBOX 700 series was designed as a simple to deploy, scalable all in one solution. This allows for simple deployments in small environments or more complex multi-site deployments, by allowing you to manage each appliance with a simple, intuitive web interface. ClearBOX runs an award winning operating system, built for any skillset or ability. No longer does your admin need to be a Guru with 50,000 nerd points in order to build, manage and maintain your Server, Network and Gateway appliance.
Manage Up to 750 Users, with one appliance
Maximum Intrusion Protection
The ClearBOX 700 runs an advanced intrusion protection system allowing for maximum protection against global threats.
The Intrusion Detection & Prevention is a cornerstone of security for any size network. The ClearBOX uses the highly regarded Snort engine to perform real-time traffic analysis and packet logging on Internet Protocol (IP) networks. The system can help identify, log and stop (using the IPS plugin) external attack vectors targeting the network (fingerprinting, buffer overflows, brute force authentication etc.). The app contains over 1000 known attack vector signatures with another 12,000+ signatures included with the ClearBOX (with continuous updates) via the IDS update subscription from ClearCenter (app available in the Marketplace, included with ClearBOX).
Network Visibility & Control
Do you know who your top bandwidth consumers are?
The Network Visualizer captures and displays data flow traversing your network in real-time. Despite requiring some technical knowledge in networking principles, this feature can be extremely useful in troubleshooting and diagnosing bandwidth issues and unauthorized applications or malware originating from your network.
Less Equipment. Less Waste
As businesses continue to deploy the ClearBOX solution, less materials will be wasted. That's a big deal, especially considering that 50 million tons of E-Waste is generated every year and 75 million computers are dumped in landfills. ClearBOX saves space, energy, waste, money and the environment.
Think Green. Save Money. Save Power
Next time you change a light bulb, think about a ClearBOX. At 200 watts it draws about the same amount of power as the bulbs in your office. But the server rack of today is a heat generating, power sucking monster. ClearBOX lets you save a little green and decrease your footprint on required systems. Think of it this way.. how long would your current server or network device last on your current backup power supply (UPS)? Just think of the difference running a 200 watt appliance versus a 600 watt appliance.
The ClearBOX 700 has two drive configurations:
