For about 5 days now, a problem has been happening with my ClearOS 5.2 machine that I can't cannot find the cause to.

My system is a Desktop 400MHZ/384MB.

It has been running ClearOS/ClarkConnect since version 4.2 or so, or whatever would have been back in 2008.

It has be running QoS and my Internet (port forwarding/firewall).

Yet for the past few days, when I max out my Internet at 3.8MB/s or 3.5MB/s or so with QoS, the Internet itself will be fine to all my computers.

But accessing the ClearOS machine itself via SSH (I run irssi in screen) or even the webconfig is virtually impossible. They both slow down as if they are on a very bad dial-up connection.

Though once the downloading has paused/stopped everything is normal again.

I tried running top as this was occurring and it the only thing is shows is all the sudden "irssi", "system-mysqld", and some other programs are showing 20% of the CPU each then jump back down after.

I have tried "rebooting" all switches, checking all network cables, still have the issue.

I made no software (package) changes to my system at all in the past week or for months even except yum update once in a while.
