Hi all, I have been trying to register my ClearOS server but to no avail. Every time I try to register the server with my username (nadimc) and password I get the following error:
Failed to connect to the Service Delivery Network. Either your connection is down or our servers are temporarily unavailable. couldn't connect to host
I would really appreciate any assistance as I can't wait to update the server and go live with it.
Thanks in advance,
Nadim

Philippe,
I am fully aware of the long time between hops and that is because we use a VSAT link and the average latency to any site in Europe is between 550 and 700 ms. As for the DNS settings, the default settings were 127.0.0.1 and 208.67.222.222 (OpenDNS). So I took off the localhost and used 208.67.220.220 instead and the same issue is occurring.
I really want to get this working!!!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!
P.S: Could your servers be blocking IP addresses from Nigeria by any chance?

Nadim your tracert secure.clearcenter.com is taking long amounts of time between hops. I am with Ben sounds like DNS issue.
I would run the same command from your laptop connected to router and see how long it takes to find the DNS servers. I am looking for hops that are 10 times faster; also look for the DNS entries of your server, if you have any. (webconfig: Network - - > Setting - - > IP Settings) -

Philippe,
As mentioned in my reply to Ben, I connected my laptop straight to the internet, bypassing all firewalls and routers and the problem persists. It seems my IP address is getting blocked be cause my ISP confirmed that they are able to open the site from their end and a tracert from my server displays the following:

Ben,
I tried that but to no avail. I even tried connecting to https://secure.clearcenter.com/portal/new_account.jsp from a standalone machine directly connected to the internet, bypassing the router and firewall and the same thing happens.
Surprisingly enough, when I connected my laptop to the internet using my 3G connection, I was able to open the site https://secure.clearcenter.com/portal/new_account.jsp!!!!
I think this should be escalated to the admins and see if my IP address is being blocked (80.88.131.167). -

Philip,
Thanks for your reply. The server is lying behing my Untangle router and using an internal IP address. This internal IP address is fully whitelisted and has full access to the internet. I even tried turning off the different modules on Untangle in order to allow the connection to go through but to no avail.
I just sent an email to my ISP to see if there might be a DNS issue. Let's wait for their reply before we take any other steps.
Nadim
